Catharina rekindles her relationship with Fritz; Monika composes for the European Song Contest; Eva punishes Jürgen for his abuse; Helga is desperate because Wolfgang contacts his former lover who was imprisoned due to her denunciation.
Berlin’s Ku’damm in 1963. The somber 1950’s are over. The colors are gaudier, fashion and music are more international and John F. Kennedy makes his historic visit. The three Schöllack sisters, Monika, Helga and Eva, once again come up against the invisible social barriers that limit independent life choices for women. But they have become more courageous in their fight against these constraints and against the ever-present attempts by their mother Caterina to control them. The energy that erupted into the student protests in the late 1960’s can already be felt here.
