Description

A baby’s disappearance in a small Australian coastal town triggers a young couple’s psychological breakdown. Thrust under the glare of media speculation, her relationship begins to unravel and is changed forever.
Based on Helen FitzGerald’s best-selling book, the story focuses on new parents who leave their home in one country and travel to the man’s birthplace in another country to introduce the new arrival to his family – and allow him to pursue custody of his first child. Filled with anger and resentment over her ex-husband’s affair with his now partner, his ex-wife, had taken his daughter away some years before, without even informing him. Since the new baby’s arrival, the young mother has struggled with being a first time mum and soon after landing they find themselves at the centre of an unthinkable tragedy when their baby boy goes missing from their car in a sleepy coastal town. As they face the intense glare of public and police scrutiny, and as the consequences of this deeply personal trauma play out, their relationship – and lives – are changed forever.
