The world is full of mysteries. And where there are mysteries, the investigators of the Institute of Paranormal Phenomena must intervene. There’s no case skeptic David and naive scientist Vojta can’t solve. Whether it’s an alien abduction of an upstanding citizen of Czechoslovakia, spontaneous self-ignition of a saint in a church or an attack by the creepy goat monster Kozlopír, you can be sure: these two will always find an explanation.

The show is based on the real existence of the so-called Psychoenergetic Laboratory (PEL), an institution controlled by two Prague universities that unofficially carried out experiments on telepathy and other phenomena, and which operated from 1978 until its dissolution in 1990, developing its activity in a way closely related to the Cold War and the threat of psychological experiments.
