Description

Luke, teenager with a mild form of ADHD, repeatedly causes problems. Advised by school to provide Luke with peace, his mother Flora wants them to spend summer at her mother’s in Cornwall. Flora’s partner, Bernard, would rather stay home.

Flora is determined to ensure that Luke gets plenty of rest and exercise during his holidays. Flora and her artist mother can barely last longer than a weekend together. To this day, the unconventional mother and self-controlled daughter’s ideas of what constitutes a good life are fundamentally different. For this reason, Flora moved away 14 years ago, far away to the big city, where she soon became a mother. But at first, there is no sign of peace and quiet in beautiful Cornwall. It isn’t long before Luke is in trouble again. Despite several “Keep Out” signs, he enters a private estate and encounters Sir Henry, a grumpy ornithologist who is at odds with half the village. After Luke gets a slap in the face from Sir Henry, Flora wants to press charges. But when Flora recognizes the village policeman Eric, she turns back empty-handed. Eric, her best friend from her childhood, is Luke’s father and, back then at 17, didn’t want a child…

“A thrilling romance in one of the most beautiful places on earth!” – ORF

“Of course, it’s nice to watch again, as we move through an idyllic landscape, the kind we know from postcards, and through the world filled with attractive people. Who needs reality when you can create a fantasy? That’s not necessarily something to be upset about; after all, millions of people tune in here to switch off from artificial dramas. Anyone who enjoys these stories will indeed enjoy ‘Town, Country, Kiss’.” – Film-Rezensionen.de

“The film is entertaining and, thanks to the good actors, definitely worth watching.” – Tittelbach.tv
