Three very respectable families – and one unthinkable suspicion.
Mira, Fabian and Jakob got into a confrontation with the man on the subway station platform; after a series of mutual provocations, he ends up dead. When a homeless man is found, the police begin searching for three teenagers. Slowly, the parents realize: the young suspects are their own children. How could this happen? And what are they supposed to do now? The privileged parents struggle to reach their sheltered children, who refuse to talk. In shock, the adults agree to cover up the crime to protect their offspring – but the teenagers themselves are not prepared to play along.
Was it a tragic accident, self‑defence, or murder? As long as Mira, Fabian and Jakob remain silent, the truth stays buried – and the families are pushed to the breaking point.
“The characters feel too much like real people. The actors’ performances, with their everyday, true‑to‑life dialogue, are far too realistic. And the dramaturgy and film language are just too convincing. One of the highlights of the year!” – Tittelbach.tv
“’Swept Under the Carpet’ is not your typical TV crime drama. It is an extraordinary film.” – Esslinger Zeitung
“The authors observe closely, handling characters with sensitivity and a refreshingly nuanced approach. The result is a disturbing, compelling psychological portrait, boasting an exquisite cast.” – TV Spiel Film
