Description
A young man returns to his village after serving time for a murder he may or may not have committed. Will old truths be dangerous even now?
The peace of the little town of Altenhain is shattered when Tobias returns home after having served his sentence. Seven years ago, when he was 19, he had been convicted of murdering Stefanie, the local beauty. Stefanie made all the men of Altenhain lose their heads, including her former teacher Gregor. Shortly after Tobias’ return, Gregor’s body is found in the woods, hanged. Oliver von Bodenstein, head of homicide, and inspector Pia Kirchhoff are soon confronted with the dark history of Altenhain.
Crime drama based on Nele Neuhaus crime fiction, who sets all her successful novels in the enchanted, mystical and fairytale-like Taunus region.
“Fairytale connoisseurs expect an evil queen to be the culprit. Too simple?! Screenwriter Henriette Piper and director Manfred Stelzer manage to make it grimmer and more profound.” – TV Spielfilm
“A rather leisurely crime thriller is spiced up by attractive images, captured by cinematographer Johann Feindt, who skillfully stages the dark, shadowy shots as well as the almost artificial observations of landscapes and details. At times, one actually gets the feeling that reality is blending with fantasy. This Taunus crime thriller proves to be above average.” – Quotenmeter
“Florian Bartholomäi plays a handicapped man and his twin brother in an almost Oscar-worthy way.” – Prisma.de
