Description

Cara Cook is a bright, athletic, college student who disappears without a trace. Five days play out three times from a trio of perspectives; her spiraling parents, the troubled detective assigned to her case and finally, Cara herself.
When college student Cara goes missing, the story takes three views: Her parents’, a nice married couple struggling with empty-nest syndrome; the detective investigating her disappearance, a drunk struggling with his relationship; and Cara’s own experience.
“Interesting twist on a crime story. Essentially three short films, based around one theme, it never feels disjointed. Tension builds in the first two segments, along with some nice character work, leading to a satisfying conclusion. The seamlessness of the overall vision begs the question, ‘Why use three directors?’ but there is no denying the emotional power of the underlying story.“ – CTV News
“Its concept—the same story told from three perspectives, each segment handled by a different director—is deployed deftly enough to keep you guessing until nearly the final shot.” – The Coast
“If Ordinary Days was just a calling card for a trio of Canadian filmmakers looking to show their range, it’d be a decent accomplishment. But it’s not a stunt; it’s an actual movie. It plays.” – NOW Toronto
