Description

A military special operations team, led by a CIA case officer, is on a mission in the harsh and hostile terrain of Afghanistan where they find themselves in a Middle Eastern Bermuda Triangle of ancient evil.
This tense blend of war thriller and psychological mystery is set in post‑9/11 Afghanistan. CIA agent Benjamin Keynes joins a small US Special Forces unit sent into a remote mountainous region under the pretext of locating a local religious leader. As they advance, the team encounters inexplicable phenomena, shifting terrain and unseen threats that no training can explain, slowly eroding their trust in the mission and in each other. Cut off from support and with casualties mounting, Keynes must decide whether to keep following orders or confront the possibility that they have been brought there for reasons no one has fully told them.
“’The Objective’ may be one of the smartest horror movies this year.” – Paste Magazine
“Director Daniel Myrick has taken his excellent work from the ultra-low-budget ‘Blair Witch Hunt,’ added some modest resources as befits that success and come up with a great little tale of suspense and horror.” – Monsters and Critics
“’The Objective’ is an impressive piece of work. It keeps within its carefully controlled elements until the last act histrionics take over. Daniel Myrick is one filmmaker who can spin the genre into any shape he wants, and come out triumphant.” – PopMatters
