Description
To promote their new dating platform, managers of Cupid’s Match invite a couple of perfect candidates to live together in a cottage near the sea for four weeks…
Computer scientist Dr. Mary Cameron is firmly convinced that love is not a force of fate, but follows calculable laws. A newly developed algorithm she uses to match couples on the dating platform Cupid’s Match. Her boss hopes to outshine the competition with the new programming. To raise awareness of the platform, they launch a major advertising campaign. A young couple is selected who, according to Mary’s algorithm, are a perfect match: Amanda and Zac. They move into a dream cottage on the coast for a month. If they decide to marry, they receive the house as a wedding dowry. The entire campaign is accompanied by Mary and social media expert Paul.
He doesn’t care much for calculations, preferring to believe in the magic of falling in love, which brings people together, and this immediately causes him to clash with Mary. After Paul’s first meeting with the selected couple, he is certain that the two are not suited to each other. Mary tells Paul that it’s not about “belief,” but about fact-based “knowledge.” But, as Mary gets to know Paul better, she increasingly questions the infallibility of her algorithm. Is love, after all, completely unpredictable?
“Maxine Kazis is once again impressive. Tobias van Dieken is her equal, and the young couple, Eva Nürnberg and Tobias Schaefer, is equally interestingly cast.” – Tittelbach.tv
“Oh, Rosamunde! Even if the world is teetering on the brink of madness, one thing remains certain: With Rosamunde Pilcher, love triumphs. Love, you fools, love! Even if an algorithm might have to lend a hand!” – Quotenmeter.de
