Description
A mercenary is hired by the F.B.I. to track down a powerful recluse criminal. A woman is also trying to track him down for her own personal vendetta.
In New York, Adele Tasca is present when her husband is murdered by a letter bomb. She suspects the reclusive billionaire Karl Stegner, his former employer, of committing the assassination. She learns that her husband, who worked as a chemist, discovered that his employer had made a contaminated drug that resulted in patients contracting cancer. The US government would like to be able to find and bring charges against this mysterious Stegner, who hides his face from the world and his income from the tax department.
“’Firepower’ is one of those international action thrillers designed to combine a top-name cast with lots of shooting and explosions so the story can be followed regardless of whether you understand the language.” – Variety
“This is definitely a successor to director’s earlier crime films like ‘Scorpio’, ‘The Stone Killer’, and ‘The Big Sleep’, with plot twists aplenty and lots of violent mayhem.” – Mono Digital
“’Firepower’ is fairly daft but entirely watchable. Winner directs brashly, as usual. It also memorable for starring a good value ensemble cast.” – derekwinnert.com
