Description

When Mirco’s parents check on their boy in the morning, he isn’t there.

The story begins when Mirco’s parents find him missing one morning, Mirco having failed to return from the skate park the previous night.

The alerted police begin to search for him. At the latest when the boy’s clothes are found, the fear becomes certain: the boy is dead. Ingo Thiel, the head of the special commission, promises Mirco’s family to do everything to find the murderer. A grueling investigation begins.

When a boy disappears overnight from the Bergisches Land in Germany, Ingo Thiel, head of the special task force assigned to the search, finds himself with a criminal case on his hands.

Directed by Urs Egger, the film recounts the “Mirco Case” and is based on the true story that shook Germany when a ten-year-old boy was murdered in the autumn of 2010 in North Rhine-Westphalia.

“The film gets under your skin and remains highly suspenseful for 90 minutes, even if the viewer knows how the case ends.” – Zeit Online

“In its style, the film goes far beyond the usual fictional methods, the editing and camera work drive the action forward without any fuss. It was certainly a daring gamble to retell a case with a predetermined outcome that was already known, but the authors succeed in creating an astonishing closeness to those affected at the time and empathy for them.” – Tittelbach.tv

“A factual thriller doesn’t get much better than this.” – Quotenmeter.de
