Description

The year is 1976, a dangerous year in the Straits of Yucatan.

Jack Hooks, a former cop set up by his corrupt partner is sent to jail for a drug crime he didn’t commit. After being yanked out of prison with an early-release deal offered by the DEA, he is sent on a do-or-die mission to bring down the drug trade of his former partner Frank Rossi and his contacts. Hooks has no choice but to plunge into the marijuana-smuggling underworld by making one big run through “The Eye”: the narrow channel that flows between Cuba and Mexico, and into the heart of a violent Colombian drug ring. At the head of the ring is Carlos Huerta, the ruthless drug lord who is Rossi’s supply source and Jack’s final objective – if he can escape the Colombian jungles before his clandestine relationship with Huerta’s young courtesan is discovered and threatens his freedom and the lives of himself and his crew.

“Full of action-packed scenes, visually impressive, the film keeps the viewer engaged throughout. The score by Bertie Higgins adds a layer of suspense and emotion to the story, creating a heightened sense of drama that keeps the audience on the edge of their seat. The acting is strong, with Thorne and Sizemore both delivering convincing and nuanced performances. In conclusion, ‘The Colombian Connection’ is a thrilling and engaging action movie that delivers on all fronts. The story is well-crafted, the characters are complex and multi-dimensional, and the action sequences are impressive.” – Yidio

“Incredibly well made. The directing, storytelling, acting, cinematography… all top-notch! Tom Sizemore delivers another one of his incredibly well paced performances. He is clearly back at the top of his game. Sizemore’s acting in this film has all of the subtlety and nuance that marked his rise to stardom in the 90s.” – DoubleSizemore
