Description

A man’s attempt to construct the ultimate romantic weekend backfires when his quest for perfection traps his lover in an infinite loop.
A young inventor obsessively attempts to engineer the perfect romantic weekend and record every happy moment between him and his girlfriend, Lana. When his idea is thwarted by the unexpected arrival of his partner’s aggressive ex-boyfriend, the technical wiz invents a time-travelling device to return to the exact moment the incident occurred to prevent it from happening. As a result, the three characters become trapped in an infinite metaphysical time loop.
“Sullivan’s screenplay is one of the sharpest and most enjoyable to have come out of Australian cinema for many years. ‘The Infinite Man’ is a delightfully intellectual exercise in escapism. It is difficult film to categorise, and a joyously entertaining one to contemplate.” – The Guardian
“The metaphoric possibilities of time-travel fantasies are unusually well exploited. Puzzle-like but rarely alienating, the Aussie import would be easy to market in arthouses despite the absence of familiar faces on- or off-screen.” – The Hollywood Reporter
“Despite its complex timeline, ‘The Infinite Man’ is an impressively minimalist storytelling achievement. An exemplary time travel comedy.” –IndieWire
