Crumpled mackintosh, small Trabi and a big heart. That is the trademark of Dr. Ballouz, the unusual chief physician of a small clinic. With his team, he fights for the patients and against his past.
Amin Ballouz fled his homeland to Germany as a young man and found a new home in the Uckermark region. There he lived happily for many years with his wife Mara and worked as a doctor in a nearby clinic. When his wife has an accident and dies in his hands, his world collapses. In despair, he leaves his work and familiar surroundings behind for a long time and seeks distance. His friend Prof. Frey, however, succeeds in bringing him back to his old clinic and thus to his old environment as head physician and surgeon. As a widower he takes refuge in his work; his patients and his colleagues become a substitute for his family. He has a big heart and is especially appreciated by his patients, for whom he always takes ample time and shows great empathy.
