Description
A young group of friends journey together to find the piece from a passing Comet that lands near their home town.
Lucas is awoken late one night by his father, who quickly drives the two of them to the local observatory where he works. There, the two of them are joined by Cliff, who works as an assistant to Lucas’ father. He has discovered a new Comet that will orbit the sun one year from today. Lucas is amazed at his Dad’s achievement
One year after his Dad’s discovery, Lucas and his friends are walking home from the drive-in when they see a bright flare blaze across the sky. It lands very close to their town. Could it be a piece that has broken off the passing Comet that Lucas’s father had discovered? Little does Lucas know that two scientists, covering their identities in bio hazard suits, are also after the same piece of the Comet, and the race is on to claim it first…
“Triggs goes all out to honour his filmic inspirations, exhibiting his own strengths as a storyteller and filmmaker while still embracing the legacy left by great 80s family cinema. With a committed cast and tech-savvy crew, The Comet Kids proves an entirely winning, wonderfully engaging throwback to the grand-scale PG-rated romp.” – Screen Space
“It’s everything a sci-fi fan boy could want. Dripping with the feel of classic 80s sci-fi family hits like E.T., The Flight of the Navigator and Space Camp, this independent production looks to be a stellar addition to the local film release schedule of 2017.” – The Lowdown Under
