Progress or deprivation of liberty: how dangerous is Artificial Intelligence?
Emma Turgut, a psychotherapist, is haunted by the suicide of a young patient, for which she blames herself. To cope with overwhelming demand, Emma develops an AI-based therapy app with her friend Georg. She and her family live in a technologically advanced smart home controlled by a system called SAMIRA. As the app enters its first phase of use, the smart home begins malfunctioning: a household robot falls, the sauna overheats dangerously, and thirty kilograms of coffee are mysteriously ordered. The AI app also starts recommending patients to look elsewhere. Emma becomes convinced there is a hacker or manipulation, but the line between paranoia and reality blurs as she deteriorates emotionally, losing her connection with her husband Amir, son Malik, and her patients.
A dystopian thriller with a horror edge asks whether the technology is truly turning against her, or whether she is unraveling under trauma, guilt, and overwork.
