Three friends on a crusade to Jerusalem must choose between faith and friendship.
In this opulently filmed miniseries, Jerusalem is the goal of an army of Christian soldiers on a mission to “free” the Holy Land from the Muslims. Unfolding against this roiling, martial backdrop is the moving story of three young men who fight together – and against one another – as they shape their destinies. One is driven by a thirst for knowledge, another by the lure of the battle, the third by the power of faith. Though their shared experiences strengthen their bonds, they also threaten to destroy their friendship when the three come face to face with the brutality and inhumanity of many of their fellow Crusaders, the wisdom and sophistication of the alleged “infidels”, and their love for one and the same woman.
